What kind of performances can we expect from Cam Whitmore, Anfernee Simons, and Jake LaRavia? Follow along as our NBA betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite NBA prop bets for Thursday, December 4th. Thursday’s NBA slate features only 5 games, but there are still plenty of stars projected to be in action, including Tyrese Maxey, LeBron James, and Anthony Edwards.
As always, make sure to keep an eye on the NBA injury report ahead of tip-off. There are plenty of notable names who have already been ruled out for this evening, with Stephen Curry, Zion Williamson, Jaylen Brown, Luka Doncic and others out of the lineup for various reasons.
Bettors and DFS players can leverage the absence of key players with tools like RotoGrinders CourtIQ to search for market inefficiencies on nights like these.

Best NBA Player Props for Thursday, December 4th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, December 4th:
- Cam Whitmore Over/Under 10.5 Points
- Anfernee Simons Over/Under 15.5 Points
- Jake LaRavia Over/Under 3.5 Rebounds
Cam Whitmore OVER 10.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)
Whitmore should see a nice bump in playing time this evening with Bilal Coulibaly out. In mid-November, with Coulibaly out of the lineup, Whitmore played 29 minutes against the Mavericks, 29 minutes against the Pistons, and 25 minutes against the Rockets.
According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, Whitmore is averaging 14.2 points per 24 minutes this season with both Alex Sarr and Coulibaly off of the floor. Boston ranks 26th in defensive rating across their last 8 games and has struggled to defend areas from which Whitmore likes to shoot the basketball.
Whitmore should have plenty of volume to justify the risk.
Anfernee Simons OVER 15.5 Points (-125, bet365)
Tonight will be the first game this season in which the Celtics won’t have Jaylen Brown available, so the rotations are somewhat of an unknown going into this evening’s game against the Wizards. That being said, we can use tools like RotoGrinders CourtIQ to see who has benefited the most from Brown being off of the floor so far this season.
Simons is someone who could see a notable uptick in scoring opportunities on Thursday. He’s averaging a team-high 21 points per 30 minutes of action this season with Brown on the bench.
The volume should be there for Simons to flirt with 20 points in a favorable matchup against Washington, a team that ranks 27th in defensive rating across their last 8 contests.
Jake LaRavia OVER 3.5 Rebounds (-150, BetMGM)
In 4 games with Luka Doncic inactive this season, LaRavia has yet to have fewer than 5 rebounds or fewer than 9 rebound chances. According to RotoGrinders CourtIQ, LaRavia is averaging 4.1 rebounds per 26 minutes this season with Doncic off of the floor. The return of LeBron James complicates the projected rotations to an extent, but it would nonetheless be surprising to see LaRavia play fewer than 30 minutes on Thursday. There is likely value on the over.
