Thursday’s NBA slate features 8 games, beginning at 7:00 PM ET. The trade deadline is officially behind us, but the flurry of transactions from around the league from the past few days means that a lot of players will be unavailable this evening.

As a result, today’s NBA injury report, has some big names on it, including Jaren Jackson, who was traded to the Jazz. Keyonte George, Stephen Curry, and Devin Booker are among the notable names who will be out tonight due to injury.

As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Thursday, February 5th!

Scottie Barnes OVER 5.5 Assists (-102, FanDuel)

Since the beginning of January, Barnes is averaging 6.5 assists per 36 minutes with both Jakob Poeltl and RJ Barrett off the floor. In 7 games with both players inactive during that span, Barnes has cleared this number 5 times, with only 1 game of fewer than 9 potential assists.

Chicago’s defense might be slightly improved following the trade deadline, but the Raptors are at home this evening, which is a boost to role players being able to knock down some shots. This is a playable number for Barnes in a competitive game script.

Collin Gillespie OVER 15.5 Points (-104, FanDuel)

In 9 games without Devin Booker available this season, Gillespie hasn’t played fewer than 24 minutes. According to CourtIQ, Gillespie is averaging 14.4 points per 24 minutes with Booker off of the floor, which should be treated as his floor projection for tonight’s action.

Gillespie played 33 minutes this past Tuesday against the Trail Blazers and 27 minutes two days earlier against the Clippers, so it’s certainly possible (if not likely) that he sees closer to 30 minutes on Thursday, especially considering his strong recent play.

In 7 games since Jimmy Butler last played, Golden State ranks only 15th in defensive rating but 2nd in pace. There should be ample opportunities for Gillespie to score the basketball tonight in a decent matchup.

Gui Santos OVER 8.5 Points (-112, FanDuel)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONFANDUEL

Santos has played at least 26 minutes in each of Golden State’s last 4 games with both Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler sidelined. According to CourtIQ, Santos is averaging 10.5 points per 26 minutes this season with Curry and Butler off of the floor.

Santos has scored at least 9 points in all 5 games this season in which he’s played at least 22 minutes. He should once again see closer to 25 minutes this evening against a Phoenix team that ranks only 14th in defensive rating in 6 games since Devin Booker last played.

This is a good matchup for Santos to find some offensive success. Our ScoresAndOdds projections have him for 9.54 points this evening.
