NBA fans in the United States will be treated to a rare edition of Thursday afternoon hoops today, with the Grizzlies and Magic tipping off from Berlin at 2:00 PM ET. The rest of today’s action is all scheduled for a 7:00 PM ET tip-off or later.

Thursday’s NBA injury report is once again quite busy, especially after last night’s in-game injuries to Jalen Brunson and Cooper Flagg. Neither player is expected to suit up tonight.

As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Thursday, January 15th!

Best NBA Player Props for Thursday, January 15th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 PM ET on Thursday, January 15th:

PJ Washington OVER 9.5 Rebounds + Assists (-120, bet365)

Yesterday, Cooper Flagg was forced to exit the game against the Nuggets with an ankle injury – the second consecutive game in which Flagg has twisted his ankle. As a result, it seems highly unlikely that he plays against the Jazz.

According to CourtIQ, Washington has averaged 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per 36 minutes this season with Flagg off of the floor. In the lone game he played with Flagg unavailable, Washington had 10 rebounds on 19 rebound chances and 4 assists on 6 potential assists against the Knicks.

He should have a great chance to clear this number against a Jazz team that allows a lot of rebounds and assists on a nightly basis.

Karl-Anthony Towns OVER 34.5 Points + Rebounds (-121, DraftKings)

Last night, Jalen Brunson played only 5 minutes before suffering an ankle sprain in the 1st quarter. The fact that he didn’t return to the game makes it seem unlikely that we see him on the floor for the Knicks tonight, especially with the team being on the road once again.

According to CourtIQ, Towns has averaged 27.3 points and 12.6 rebounds per 36 minutes this season with Brunson off of the floor. He’s cleared this number in all 3 games in which Brunson has been inactive.

Even on the second night of a back-to-back against a capable Golden State defense, Towns should have a great chance to make an impact in the box score.

Josh Hart OVER 13.5 Rebounds + Assists (-120, DraftKings)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONDRAFTKINGS

According to CourtIQ, Hart has averaged 8.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists per 36 minutes this season with Jalen Brunson off of the floor. In 3 games with Brunson inactive, Hart hasn’t had fewer than 12 rebound chances or 11 potential assists in any game.

The Warriors do a decent job limiting total rebounds to their opponents because of their style of play, but they have allowed the 3rd-most assists per game in the NBA during their last 8 trips to the hardwood. This is a decent price on Hart to continue filling up the stat sheet with Brunson likely unavailable.
