What kind of performances can we expect from Kon Knueppel and Draymond Green? Follow along as our NBA betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite NBA prop bets for Thursday, January 22nd. Thursday’s 8-game NBA slate will feature a Prime Video doubleheader, beginning with the Warriors against the Mavericks at 7:30 PM ET and followed by the Lakers against the Clippers in the Battle of Hollywood.
Unsurprisingly, the NBA injury report is littered with big names ahead of tip-off, with Jimmy Butler, Lauri Markkanen, and Tyler Herro already ruled out. Paul George, Josh Giddey, and Kawhi Leonard are questionable as of this writing.
As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Best NBA Player Props for Thursday, January 22nd
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, January 22nd:
- Kon Knueppel Over/Under 2.5 3-Pointers Made
- Kon Knueppel Over/Under 4.5 Rebounds
- Draymond Green Over/Under 6.5 Assists
Kon Knueppel OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made (-120, bet365)
Knueppel has gone under this number in consecutive games, but a larger lens reveals he’s cleared this number in 13 of his last 20 games and 29 of 43 games this season. Tonight, he gets to face an Orlando defense that has permitted the 4th-highest success rate on above-the-break 3-point attempts during January.
Roughly 75% of Knueppel’s long-range attempts this month have come from above the break. He should have enough opportunities to justify the risk.
Kon Knueppel OVER 4.5 Rebounds (-120, Hard Rock)
Knueppel has recently taken an interest in crashing the glass. In January, he’s averaging 6.2 rebounds and 12.1 rebound chances. He’s had at least 9 rebound chances in every game he’s played this month, including 7 consecutive games of 11+ rebound chances (there was no advanced player tracking available for his January 10th game against Utah).
This isn’t the most favorable matchup, facing an Orlando offense that doesn’t attempt many 3-pointers. This likely limits Knueppel’s overall rebound chances away from the basket. Still, this is a hustle stat, and Knueppel plays as hard as anyone on the Hornets. He should have a chance to get to 5 boards in this spot.
Draymond Green UNDER 6.5 Assists (-155, BetMGM)
According to CourtIQ, Green has averaged 6.2 assists per 30 minutes this season with Jimmy Butler off of the floor. However, Green has played more than 29 minutes in only 1 game since December 28th, so that’s closer to his ceiling projection than a median projection.
Green will more likely play about 27 minutes, and he is facing a Dallas defense that has been about league average in January in terms of allowing assists to the forward position. Even with Butler out, this number is probably too high.
