NBA Player Props Today – Thursday, January 23, 2025

Olivier-Maxence Prosper OVER 5.5 Rebounds (+114, DraftKings)

Tonight, the Mavericks are going to be missing a lot of talent, including Luka Doncic, Jaden Hardy, Dereck Lively II, Klay Thompson, and more. Someone will need to fill the void in terms of minutes and production, and one of those players could be Olivier-Maxence Prosper.

Prosper is 6’7’’, 230 pounds, so he’s capable of being physical around the rim in addition to being athletic enough to grab some longer rebounds away from the basket. The Thunder have allowed the 11th-most rebounds per game since Isaiah Hartenstein last played on January 14. This is a bit of a speculative play given the lack of sample size with Prosper but could be a worthwhile risk at plus money.

Tyler Herro OVER 4.5 Rebounds (-132, FanDuel)

This season, Tyler Herro has recorded 5+ rebounds in 12 of 17 games that he has played without Jimmy Butler available, including 11 of 15 contests on the road. During Butler’s recent 7-game suspension, Herro averaged 6.6 rebounds and 11.9 rebound chances.

This isn’t the most favorable matchup for him, facing a Milwaukee team that has allowed the 4th-fewest rebounds per game to guards across their last 8 trips to the hardwood. Still, Herro’s recent work on the glass makes this a playable number.

RJ Barrett OVER 4.5 Assists (-140, bet365)

Entering play on Thursday, RJ Barrett is averaging 5.9 assists per game this season. He has been even more active as a facilitator when Immanuel Quickley is not on the floor, averaging 6.8 assists per 36 minutes.

Atlanta has quietly been a top-10 defense across their last 8 games, but they have still allowed the 6th-most assists per game during that stretch as a result of playing at the quickest pace in the entire NBA. Barrett should flirt with 10 potential assists in this matchup. He has 5+ assists in 18 of 20 games this year when he has 8+ potential assists without Quickley available. The math favors the over.
