NBA Player Props Today – Wednesday, February 12, 2025

Ausar Thompson OVER 2.5 Assists (-110, BetMGM)

Thompson had 4 assists again yesterday, despite Detroit leading by more than 40 points at the half. It marked his 6th consecutive game with 3+ assists. Notably, Thompson has posted 5+ potential assists in 5 of those games and 7+ potential assists in each of his last 4 games.

Tonight, Thompson gets another favorable matchup against the same Bulls team that was run off of their home floor last night. The Bulls rank 27th in defensive rating across their last 8 games and have allowed more assists per game than any other team in the league during that stretch. This is a playable number.

Franz Wagner UNDER 26.5 Points (-115, bet365)

Wagner has scored 33+ points in each of his last 2 games, but he played 38 minutes in each game, attempting 28 shots against the Spurs on Saturday and 29 shots against the Hawks on Monday. Simply, that level of volume is unlikely to continue for a player who is averaging only 19.8 field goal attempts per game this season.

The Hornets aren’t an elite defensive team, but they have been closer to mediocre than bad in recent weeks. They have also played at the 2nd-slowest pace of any team in the NBA across their last 8 games. This is a game that is likely to see a limited number of possessions, which limits the overall volume for players like Wagner. We should see some regression here in terms of shot attempts. The math favors the under.

Stephen Curry UNDER 27.5 Points (-115, bet365)

Curry enters play having scored 32+ points in each of his last 4 games, but his recent hot stretch is likely due for some regression sooner rather than later. The arrival of Jimmy Butler has undoubtedly made life easier for Curry on the offensive end of the floor, but he’s still 36 years old and will be playing in his 5th city in 8 days when the Warriors take on the Mavericks. Travel effects are real for everyone, and especially for older players.

Curry is also due for some shooting regression from 3-point territory. Even in his best seasons, he averaged a bit more than 5 made shots from deep per game. He enters play tonight with 6+ made 3-pointers in each of his last 4 games, which is something that is simply unsustainable for any player, regardless of talent level.

Dallas isn’t a particularly formidable defense, but they do limit shot attempts from beyond the arc better than most teams. If they force Curry to beat them from inside the 3-point line, it is going to make it difficult for Curry to get to 28+ points.
