Best NBA Player Props for Wednesday, January 28th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Wednesday, January 28th:
- Donovan Mitchell Over/Under 31.5 Points
- Pelle Larsson Over/Under 3.5 Assists
- Kon Knueppel Over/Under 2.5 Assists
Donovan Mitchell OVER 31.5 Points (-109, DraftKings)
According to CourtIQ, Mitchell is averaging 40 points per 36 minutes with both Darius Garland and Evan Mobley off of the floor this season. In Mitchell’s last 3 games, he’s scored 33, 36, and 45 points – taking 25+ shot attempts in each of those games.
Mitchell should once again have plenty of volume, as he is facing a Lakers team that ranks 21st in defensive rating in January. The math favors the over here, assuming Mitchell has a reasonably efficient night shooting the basketball.
Pelle Larsson OVER 3.5 Assists (-103, DraftKings)
In 4 games with both Davion Mitchell and Tyler Herro sidelined this season, Larsson has played fewer than 29 minutes in only 1 of those games. According to CourtIQ, Larsson is averaging 3.7 assists per 29 minutes with Mitchell and Herro off of the floor this season.
Since Franz Wagner last played on January 18th, Orlando has allowed the 10th-most assists per game to guards. Playing at home, Larsson should have a great chance to get to 4 assists in this spot.
Kon Knueppel OVER 2.5 Assists (-160, bet365)
Knueppel averaged 3.3 assists per game in November, averaged 4.7 assists per game in December, and is averaging 3.5 assists per game in January. He gets to face a Memphis team that ranks 23rd in defensive rating and has allowed the 6th-most assists per game in the NBA since Ja Morant last played (in an admittedly small sample size).
The main point here is that the matchup isn’t prohibitive, and Knueppel has demonstrated his capability as a facilitator of late, which includes clearing this number in 6 of his last 7 road games. He should be able to get the job done here.
