NBA PrizePicks Predictions for November 4th: Westbrook, Sexton, Drummond Make Top Plays
In this article, we’ll take a deep dive into some of the top picks for the upcoming NBA slate on PrizePicks. Most predictions are heavily based on projections, but you can find an extra edge if you happen to know ball too.
PrizePicks – one of the most popular pick’em DFS sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry. And if you haven’t signed up yet, you can grab a special offer with our PrizePicks promo code “GRINDERS” to get $50 on a $5 entry!
We’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Nuggets vs. Raptors PrizePicks Predictions
Russell Westbrook More/Less Than 31.5 Fantasy Points
Jamal Murray will miss a 2nd straight game for the Nuggets with a concussion, which means Mike Malone will turn to Russell Westbrook to start once again at point guard against Toronto. The Raptors are dealing with injury issues of their own, and this wasn’t a good defensive team, even at full strength. Toronto enters this one ranked last in the league in defensive rating. In related news, the Nuggets have an implied team total north of 120 points.
Westbrook didn’t shoot well in his last start – 2-for-11 – and that’s always a risk given his long history as an inefficient shooter. Fortunately, he does quite a bit else while he’s out there. Westbrook is still averaging well north of a fantasy point per minute this year with Murray on the bench, sporting a usage rate of over 24%. We have Russ projected for 32 minutes, which should be more than enough for him to breeze his way past 31.5 fantasy points.
- PLAY: Westbrook MORE Than 31.5 Fantasy Points
Jazz vs. Bulls PrizePicks Predictions
Collin Sexton More/Less Than 16.5 Points
We’re less than 2 weeks into the season, yet it feels like most teams are already dealing with an incredible rash of injuries. The Jazz are no exception, as they’ll be without Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markkanen, and Taylor Hendricks when they take on the Bulls in Chicago.
The Bulls are running and gunning this season, and they come into this one leading the league in pace factor. They’ve played well defensively – 7th in efficiency – but I’m not ready to buy them as a stingy defense just yet. Collin Sexton got back into Utah’s starting lineup in the last game with Clarkson out, though he was limited to just 25 minutes in a blowout loss to Denver.
This season, Sexton has a healthy usage rate of just under 26% with Markkanen and Clarkson on the floor. I expect Utah to be more competitive in this game than they were in the last one, and we have Sexton projected for 28 minutes. Someone has to score for this team, and I don’t doubt Sexton will be eager to take on that role.
- PLAY: Sexton MORE Than 16.5 Points
Sixers vs. Suns PrizePicks Predictions
Andre Drummond More/Less Than 11.5 Rebounds
The Sixers are expecting Paul George to make his team debut tonight in Phoenix, but Joel Embiid isn’t quite ready to play just yet. So, Andre Drummond will draw another start in the middle in the former MVP’s place. This season, Drummond is averaging 11.8 rebounds in just over 28 minutes a night.
Drummond has battled foul trouble in several of those games, so there’s potentially room for a few more minutes if he can find a way to stay on the floor. He’s long been the NBA’s most prestigious rebounder, while the Suns rank around the middle of the league in team rebound rate.
Drummond already has games of 17 and 13 rebounds this season, so the upside is clearly there if the minutes are. I like his chances of enjoying an active night on the boards in this one.
- PLAY: Drummond MORE Than 11.5 Rebounds
