NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions for Thursday (1/23)

Poeltl of the Raptors

I’m here to share a few of my (free!) top picks for today’s NBA slate on PrizePicks. Most of these predictions are heavily based on our projections.

Be mindful of the fact that the news cycle in the NBA is fluid, so the picks below may become more or less appealing depending on player availability. But rest assured that our NBA DFS projections team is making updates as soon as news breaks.

We have 9 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/23. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on PrizePicks this Thursday evening.

First… Sign Up to Make NBA PrizePicks Picks

If you want to play along but haven’t signed up yet, grab a special offer with our PrizePicks promo code “GRINDERS” to get $50 on a $5 entry! PrizePicks – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Raptors vs. Hawks NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Raptors vs. Hawks NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Jakob Poeltl Less Than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists

RotoGrinders projects him at 11.52 rebounds and assists, below the threshold, with simulations showing a 5.9% edge and a 63.64% hit rate. His recent performance supports this, as he has averaged 11.4 rebounds and assists over his last five games. This also one of the toughest matchups on the board when looking at our Defense vs. Archetypes Tool.

Jalen Johnson Less Than 35.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

RotoGrinders projects him at 32.24 Points + Rebounds + Assists, which is below this projection. Our simulations show this pick has a 6% edge and a 63.73% hit rate, indicating a high probability of success. Our Defense vs. Archetypes Tool also has this as a below-average matchup for shots and rebounds.

Kings vs. Nuggets NBA PrizePicks Predictions

Here are the Kings vs. Nuggets NBA PrizePicks predictions for tonight:

Keegan Murray Less Than 17.5 Points + Rebounds

RotoGrinders projects him at 15.6 Points + Rebounds, below the threshold, with simulations showing a 2.79% edge and a 60.53% hit rate. His recent performance supports this, as he has averaged 11.3 points over his last 10 games and has hit this line only 50% of the time. Our Defense vs. Archetypes Tool has this as a neutral matchup overall but a very poor matchup in terms of rebounding, which should work in our favor.
