NBA Sunday
NBA Sunday

Sunday brings us a solid four-game lineup. It’s a good day for fantasy analysis, because both of the teams involved in the biggest trade so far in 2010 have games on Sunday. The Hornets will attempt to continue their stellar win-streak with newly acquired guard Jarrett Jack, Australian center David Andersen and guard Marcus Banks from the Raptors whom they exchanged for Jerryd Bayless and Peja Stojakovic (as well as cash considerations). The biggest fantasy winner of this trade is, by far, Jose Calderon. He and J-Jack were in a timeshare battle that frustrated fantasy owners all season, because while both were talented enough to be Top 10 PGs with the right minutes, neither were getting them. In 2008-2009 when Calderon was getting ~ 34 minutes per game, he was putting up a strong 13-3-9-1-0 line with only 2 turnovers per. Make sure to get him in all of your lineups tomorrow while he’s still dirt-cheap. While Calderon’ is an easy choice, the rest of the choices are difficult tomorrow with a lot of steep drop-offs at each position. Here are the players I’m eying by position with their corresponding values on FSL:
Fantasy Sports Live – 250 Point Cap
Point Guard
- Tyreke Evans – Class: Elite – (31 of 36 Pts.) – With N.O.‘s shift at SG this week, look for Tyreke to take advantage of the cluster-fuck. He’s been off to a rough start this season, so his cost is also low for FSLs system.
- Rodney Stuckey – Class: Mid – (25 of 36 Pts.) – Mr. Consistent, Above-Average, High-Floor, Low-Ceiling, Cool-Name is one of your best bets for the price-today.

Shooting Guard
- Monta Ellis – Class: Elite – (38 of 38 Pts.) – Unless I see him riding a MoPed in pregames, I will reach for Monta Ellis almost every day. Monta Rushmore will be ready to rock in the battle of Southern Cali on Sunday.
- Gilbert Arenas – Class: Mid-Elite – (22 of 38) – His ceiling is as high as anyone’s, he’s just got a beer-gut and a bum-knee in the way of reaching it at the moment. Jokes aside, with Wall questionable and Arenas starting to heat up, 22 is the lowest his price will be all season on FSL. Fact.
Small Forward
- Reggie Williams – Class: Mid-Low – (12 of 25) – Reggie is getting used to his role with David Lee off the floor, and has increased his Fant-Points production each of the last 3 games.
Power Forward
- David West – Class: Mid-Elite – (27 of 42) – He’s en fuego right now, and he’s been one of the most underrated fantasy players for years now. It’s West, Pao and Odom at PF on Sunday – West is the cheapest.
Center
- JaVale McGee – Class: Mid – (20 of 27 Pts.) – No one would deny his talent, but now J-Mac is actually playing consistently (for him). Sure Blatche has a higher ceiling, but you have to cut-back somewhere today. Detroit has 48 year-old Big Ben holding down the front-court right now, and…that’s about it. I like McGee’s chances.
