NBA Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions for Thursday (2/6)

Exum of the Mavericks

I’m here to give you a (free!) peek behind the curtain regarding some of the awesome things our NBA DFS projections team is cooking up by giving you my top picks for today’s NBA slate on Underdog Fantasy.

Every single pick you will find below is going to be based on what our projections say is a meaningful edge.

Please keep in mind that the NBA news cycle can get crazy, so what is listed below may become a better/worse play depending on how that news breaks. You can always stay up to date on exactly what a team’s rotation and depth chart will look like on a given day by heading to our NBA starting lineups page.

We have 6 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 2/6. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on Underdog this Thursday evening.

Underdog Fantasy – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Underdog Fantasy Top NBA Picks for 2/6

Now that you’re signed up, here are some of our top NBA picks on Underdog for 2/6 at a glance:

Mavericks vs. Celtics NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Mavericks vs. Celtics NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Dante Exum Lower Than 15.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

We project him at 13.28 Points + Rebounds + Assists, which is significantly below the mark. Additionally, our simulations show this pick has a 5.1% edge and a 62.9% win probability, making it statistically favorable. Exum has been averaging just 6.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists (10.8 combined) in 17 minutes per game this season.

Our Defense vs. Archetypes Tool has this as one of the worst matchups on the board.

Spencer Dinwiddie Lower Than 2.5 Rebounds

We project him at 1.95 rebounds, which is slightly lower than the mark set by Underdog. Additionally, our simulations show this pick has a 4.5% edge and a 62.3% win probability, making positive expected value over the long run. Dinwiddie has averaged just 2.4 rebounds per game this season, and with the Dallas Mavericks facing the Boston Celtics, his role as a guard in a tough matchup against Boston’s strong rebounding team further supports this pick.

The data and matchup dynamics align well with this lower-than selection.

Rockets vs. Timberwolves NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Rockets vs. Timberwolves NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Anthony Edwards Lower Than 29.5 Points

We project him at 26.56 points, which is a bit lower than the projection from Underdog. Additionally, our simulations show this pick has a 3.4% edge and a 61.2% win probability. Edwards, averaging 26.9 points per game this season, is coming off a massive 49-point performance against the Bulls.

However, he has been held below 29.5 points in both prior matchups against the Rockets this season. With Houston’s strong defense and Minnesota playing on the second night of a back-to-back, this pick looks strong against the 4th-rated defense in defensive rating.
