NBA Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions for Wednesday (1/8)

Paul of the Spurs

I’m here to give you a (free!) peek behind the curtain regarding some of the awesome things our NBA DFS projections team is cooking up by giving you my top picks for today’s NBA slate on Underdog Fantasy. Every single pick you will find below is going to be based on what our projections say is a meaningful edge, and I will then use my basketball and analytical background to try to pinpoint the very best of the best. Please keep in mind that the NBA news cycle can get crazy, so what is listed below may become a better/worse play depending on how that news breaks. You can always stay up to date on exactly what a team’s rotation and depth chart will look like on a given day by heading to our NBA starting lineups page.

We have 8 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/8. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on Underdog this Wednesday evening.

Underdog Fantasy – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Underdog Fantasy Top NBA Picks for 1/8

Now that you’re signed up, here are some of our top NBA picks on Underdog for 1/8 at a glance:

Spurs vs. Bucks NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Spurs vs. Bucks NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Chris Paul Lower Than 9.5 Points

Paul scoring lower than 9.5 points tonight is a solid pick due to his recent scoring struggles and the defensive matchup. Over his last 20 games, Paul has averaged just 8.25 points, with only 40% of those games seeing him score higher than 9.5. This trend worsens in his last 5 games, where he averaged 8.0 points and hit higher just 20% of the time.

Our NBA projections show this pick with an 4.74% edge and a 62.47% win rate.

Raptors vs. Knicks NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Raptors vs. Knicks NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Immanuel Quickley Higher Than 19.5 Points + Rebounds

Since returning from injury, Quickley has been a key contributor for the Raptors, including a standout 21-point, 15-assist performance. Over his last 5 games, he’s averaged 15.2 points, showcasing his scoring consistency. While the Knicks defense is solid, Quickley’s offensive role and ability to grab rebounds make him a strong candidate to exceed this line. His recent form and importance to Toronto’s lineup position him well to deliver another impactful performance.

Our NBA projections show this pick with a 3.24% edge and a 60.98% win rate.

Bulls vs. Pacers NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Bulls vs. Pacers NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Patrick Williams Higher Than 12.5 Points + Assists

Averaging 10.0 points and 2.3 assists this season, Williams has shown consistent improvement, hitting higher than this line in 55% of his last 20 games. The Pacers defense against forwards is below average, creating a favorable opportunity for Williams to thrive. His recent form and the defensive matchup suggest he is well-positioned to surpass this total in tonight’s game.

Our NBA projections show this pick with a 3.17% edge and a 60.91% win rate.
