NFL Best Ball: Early 2018 Value Candidates

Best Ball season is already underway! While you may not have seen much discussion about it, early leagues have been drafting on DRAFT and FFPC for a few weeks. With many early drafts in the books already, we can extract their data and begin to learn how the crowd views players and position groups ahead of the free agency period.

I’ve taken draft data from FFPC drafts and separated it by position. I’ve also pulled in data from the last month of 2017 MFL10 Best Ball drafts to perform a comparison at each position. What am I looking for with this information? Simply, I want to see which players have moved the most (up or down) within their respective position group and determine which of these players present the best “buying opportunity” should we choose to enter into early Best Ball drafts.

You’ll note many players don’t have a value for 2018. This study quickly shows the amount of turnover in each position group from season to season. Now, let’s dig in and see what the data says!
