What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat the field? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: I like small-field GPPs for this small slate. Regardless of who starts at RB for the Chargers, I’m focusing on their passing game in this matchup. And while I’ll have Josh Allen as my QB, having multiple Chargers pass catchers without Herbert will probably get me different than most builds. Running back is a barren position outside of Cook, so I’ll probably save that spot for last and see what I can jam in with the salary I have left.

Stevietpfl: This might be the worst 3-game afternoon slate we’ve had all season. I’m going to focus on single-entry and 3-max contests for this slate. In single-entry contests, I’ll build around Josh Allen and Ashton Jeanty. In 3-entry max contests, I like the idea of paying down for Max Brosmer and having the salary to build whatever I want around him. I think Justin Herbert and the Chargers get back on track after an awful game against Jacksonville last weekend.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing one single-entry contest, as this is an incredibly gross slate of games. The Seattle offense is my favorite target, as I want to find a way to get both Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Kenneth Walker in my lineup. I may use Sam Darnold with them, but my top choice would be to get up for Allen. Sadly, there are such few salary-saving options on this slate, the optimal route to playing JSN might be pairing him with the incredibly cheap Max Brosmer on the other side.

Who’s your favorite contrarian play and why?

He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
