Noto's NFL DFS Key Personnel: Week 2
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article for Week 2, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming featured slate.
Happy Week 2, everyone!
It was about as good a Week 1 as I could have asked for. My beloved Jaguars annihilated the Browns at home, and my Tyler Shough double-stack with Jahmyr Gibbs as a bring-back allowed me to finish in the top 10% of tournaments. Shough pulled one of my favorite football memes, as he “had me in the first half, I’m not going to lie.” Luckily, he put together one of the best second-half and overtime performances that I’ve ever seen (at least from a DFS perspective). We had great calls in this article and a lot of our other content at RotoGrinders, so I hope a lot of you had nice weeks.
Week 2 is always an interesting one for DFS. We spent all summer analyzing these teams only to be wrong about a lot of them in Week 1 (I’m looking at you, Chargers). Now that we finally have some concrete data to work with, many DFS players treat it as gospel for Week 2. While I love statistics as much as anyone, I’m careful about which ones to focus on from Week 1. If you focus strictly on box scores, you might be led astray. We want to focus on the underlying usage metrics for each player. We also need to account for matchups and potential role changes in Week 2. I typically think this is the best week to be contrarian, but projected ownership seems very spread out this week.
When I say that I love to answer questions about each slate, that’s not just lip service. I genuinely love the conversations that I have with RotoGrinders members. Whether you want to ask about a 2v2, overall strategy, or anything random, I’m here for you. Shoot me a DM on X or in the RG Discord.
NFL DFS Top Picks & Plays: Noto’s Key Personnel for Week 2
This is the second week of running the new cheatsheet table below. I hope that it’s useful throughout the season. I will update it through lineup lock, so any changes to the Core, Strong, and Sprinkle plays — plus all of Week 2’s key injuries — will show up here in real time. You can search by name, filter by position or tier, and toggle between the picks and injuries right in the table, and I’ve also included salaries for both DraftKings and FanDuel.
Top Quarterback Plays
Tier 1 – Core Plays
I never love when my family hosts a party on an NFL Sunday, but I couldn’t miss my nephew’s birthday. I’d say they luckily had the Commanders/Eagles game on, but that was one ugly football game. Jayden Daniels ($6,300 DK / $7,900 FD) never looked comfortable and had far too many drives stall out thanks to poor throws. However, he still finished the game with 18 fantasy points. If he can do that while playing poorly in a bad matchup, I can’t wait to see what he does in a dream indoor matchup against the Cowboys. According to the NFL Pick Six show here on RotoGrinders, Dallas allowed the 4th-highest EPA per drive of any defense in any game since the start of last season. Daniels has rushing upside, weapons to work with, and a potentially favorable game script as a 3.5-point road underdog.
I also love the other signal caller in this game. Dak Prescott ($6,400 DK / $8,000 FD) has some of the best weapons of any quarterback in football. The Cowboys were 2nd in the NFL in yards per game last season, so we shouldn’t expect their offense to slow down this season, especially with how bad the defense looked in Week 1. Prescott has an elite track record against the Commanders (26, 23, 26, and 35 fantasy points in the last 4 games), and the Cowboys have one of the highest team totals on the board. This is my favorite game of the week to stack, so I want to be overweight on both of the quarterbacks.
Tier 2 – Strong Plays
