A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming slate.

The wait is officially over… football is back in our lives!

It’s been quite the summer for yours truly. I don’t talk about my personal life very often in these articles, but for those of you who don’t know, I got divorced a few years ago. For whatever reason, I decided that I wasn’t going to date and that I would put all of my energy and focus into being a good dad and into work. Despite everyone and their mom (including my own) trying to set me up, along with my friends offering to build and run a Tinder profile for me (not kidding), I never dated and was perfectly content living life with friends, family, my little man, and of course, sports.

My plan of staying single was going smoothly until earlier this summer when my good friend’s wife said she had found the perfect girl for me. I had heard this many times from many different people and had always politely declined. She texted me this in a big group message with friends and said I could meet this special lady at a friend’s birthday party downtown in a couple of months. My immediate reaction was to say no, but two months gave me a lot of time, and my friends had been so invested in my dating that I finally agreed to do it. Thanks to a scheduling conflict with a scramble we were playing in at my favorite golf course, the blind date got moved up. Thank you, Wasatch Golf Course (highly recommended if you ever find yourself in Utah). Not to brag, but I shot my all-time low score there last week.

Where was I again? Ah, yes, it’s been an incredible ride since the day I met her. It’s wild how life works sometimes.

I’m not sure the point of this story or how to relate it to fantasy football, but I’ll try anyway.

My goal this season is to make this article a little more personable. I still plan to bring the best possible analysis to the table, but there’s so much content out there now that I want this article to stand out a little and be a nice refresher from the routine projection and matchup columns that we are all used to reading. So, whether it’s stories from me dating, the constant struggle of parenting a soon-to-be 9-year-old, or foolishly agreeing to run a half marathon in a few weeks, I’ll have plenty to talk about this season.

NFL DFS Top Picks & Plays: Noto’s Key Personnel for Week 1

Now, let’s get back to football. Whether you are building one lineup or 150 lineups, I highly recommend spending your Sunday morning in LineupHQ. Not only is it the best NFL DFS optimizer on the planet (I’m not biased at all), but that’s where you can find all of the Expert Play tags from all of the experts here at RotoGrinders (myself included). I don’t expect the weather to impact many of the games, but you should always use the NFL weather forecast before finalizing your lineups.

As always, I appreciate you reading this article each and every week. As a thank you, I am happy to answer any and all questions that you might have regarding players, strategy, or even just life in general. All you have to do is shoot me a DM in the RG Discord or on Twitter.

Enough chit-chat; let’s dive into the plays for Week 1!

Quarterback

While I have my favorite plays at each position, there are so many options every week. Similar to last year, I am going to cover my Expert Play tags individually and the other players at each position that I expect to have in my player pool.

EXPERT PLAY TAGS

Jayden Daniels: $5,700 DK / $7,000 FD

Anthony Richardson: $6,300 DK

Josh Allen: $9,200 FD

Caleb Williams has gotten most of the headlines this summer, but I have more interest in Jayden Daniels in Week 1. The Commanders brought in Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator, which should speed up the tempo of the offense. Most remember Kingsbury for his horizontal raid in Arizona, but Kyler Murray had plenty of big fantasy outings in that offense. Daniels is a dual-threat quarterback with an obvious stacking candidate (we’ll get there shortly) and a favorable matchup. A lot changes year-to-year when it comes to defense, but the Buccaneers were one of the biggest pass funnels in the NFL last season (5th in EPA against the run, 25th against the pass). Daniels has a rushing prop of 38.5 yards, which gives him a nice built-in floor for DFS.
