Noto's NFL DFS Key Personnel: Week 6 (MNF Slate)
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article for the Week 6 MNF slate, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming featured slate.
I hope many of you had a profitable Week 6 main slate. We are back at it on Monday night, as we have another doubleheader. I had mixed feelings when the NFL started doing these on Monday night, but I’ve really come around on the idea. It gives us an extra game to sweat, and it gives us more options for DFS. We can play the 2-gamer (which is what this article will focus on), or we can attack the games individually in Showdown. I doubt I’ll have any changes before lineups lock, but my latest Expert Play tags can always be found in LineupHQ, which is the best NFL DFS optimizer on both sides of the Mississippi.
NFL DFS Top Picks & Plays: Noto’s Key Personnel for Week 6 – Monday Night Football
With limited options at each position, there is a lot of chalk gravitating to a few players at each position. Luckily, some injuries to wideouts have opened up a decent amount of value plays. It’s not hard to build lineups that you feel good about, which is pretty rare for a 2-game slate. We’ll look at the top plays at each position, as well as some potential pivots for tournaments. As always, we should try to build correlation into our lineups whenever possible.
Top Quarterback Plays
Tier 1 – Core Plays
Unlike the main slate, I’m looking to spend up at quarterback on Monday night. We have enough value to make it work, and I don’t want to pass up a high floor/ceiling play on a 2-game slate. My favorite quarterback is Josh Allen ($7,700 DK / $9,100 FD), who has averaged 25 fantasy points in the first 5 games of the season. The best part is that he’s attempted fewer than 30 passes in 3 of those games and has only scored 3 rushing touchdowns. When the Bills get pushed, he has the highest ceiling of any quarterback in the NFL. The Bills are only 3.5-point favorites on the road against the Falcons, so the market certainly thinks Atlanta can put up a fight in this one.
Tier 2 – Sprinkle Plays
Caleb Williams ($5,600 DK / $7,300 FD) projects as the top point-per-dollar quarterback on the slate. He has averaged over 20 fantasy points per game this season and is still cheap on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The Bears are coming off a bye, so they’ve had 2 weeks to prepare for the Commanders, who are 29th in PFF’s grades against the pass and 22nd in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. My main concern is that Washington has one of the highest pressure rates in the league, and that is when Williams struggles the most. The Bears are already starting an undrafted free agent at left tackle and could be without their right tackle as well.
Based on ownership projections, Jayden Daniels ($6,900 DK / $8,400 FD) is likely going to be the chalk at quarterback. He draws the top matchup on the board, as the Bears are 25th in PFF’s grades against the pass and 26th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. We should be encouraged by his 8 rushing attempts last week in his first game back from injury, but he’s yet to flash a ceiling this season. He has only averaged 19 fantasy points per game. Perhaps the ceiling game will come tonight, but I’m fine being underweight if he’s going to be the highest-owned quarterback.
With the other three quarterbacks all in good spots, it’s hard to imagine Michael Penix ($5,000 DK / $6,800 FD) garnering much ownership. He’s a pocket passer in the most difficult matchup on the board (Bills have allowed the 7th-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks). With a lack of rushing upside, there are fewer paths to success for Penix compared to the other quarterbacks. He essentially needs 300+ yards and multiple touchdowns, which is a big ask in a matchup against the Bills.
