NFL DFS Usage Trends: Week 6

Player usage and opportunity is need to know information in DFS. This article is dedicated to the subject, and each week we will examine the opportunity stats that matter most to our DFS lineup decisions. We seek to do so efficiently, and not waste your precious time. I’m filling in for Alex Sonty again this week, and I’ve got GridironIQ wide open and ready to dig deep. Lets. Freaking. Go.

Note: The stats I like to reference and why they should matter to you:

1. Team market share of carries, targets, and air yards: Because understanding the way opportunity is distributed within a team actually helps us project moving forward, while counting stats and raw values fail to consider the outputs in context to the team.

2. Team pace, identity, and game scripts: Because (as example) 20% share of 30 attempts isn’t as powerful as 20% of 50 attempts. Team pace, identity, and game scripts help us better understand a players past performance and make more precise projections for the future.
