If you could only play a handful of lineups for a given week, would you go optimized, balanced or boom or bust random ones?

  • Oldschool92

I usually only play my cash lineups in baseball. From now on I will also do it for football. Hit 211 in fanduel and my 50k winner had 206 in my gpp I was in. So was first in 95% of my cash lineups and min cashed in the gpp with a 167. Cost me my first 50K win :( back to the drawing board :)

@oldschool92 … Fucking ouch! I hate when that happens. I came within .2 points of 1st place in a mass gpp a while back. It still stings almost 2 years later.

Are the DVOA in this including only the 1 WEEK Sample now … Or still including last year?.. Might be helpful to include last year + this year for the 1st 4 weeks??

Its updated wednesday to include week 1, and i believe football outsiders usually weighs last season heavier than this year for the first couple weeks

It all depends on the contests you are entering. If you are playing cash, go optimized. If you are playing single and three-entry max GPPs, I like the balanced approach. If you are playing the millionaire maker, I’d definitely take more chances.

Thanks for updating Noto, would be super useful if u guys could add a feature to lineup hq to pick a date range for the dvoa stats. Would be great to see difference in week one 2018 VS last year rankings etc.

  • Oldschool92

Feels a little better now. It would have barely gotten 100 dollars in the million maker so its a great lesson learned. Just in better contests now thanks to rotogrinder’s browser addons.

Im confused which sample sizes should be used this early in the season for DVOA? Should I be looking at the DVOA’s on this article? or should I be looking at just the DVOA’s from last season? Any thoughts?

With scheme, coaching, and personnel changes, I would trust this year’s numbers over last year’s. With that said, it’s best to wait a few weeks before really relying on these numbers.
