Does Miami really have one of the best rush defenses?

  • Ryansixt

Who is being considered the #1 WR’s Ariz has faced? Peterson has shut them all down yet showing 25th

  • rickysabogal

Only #1 I can find that had a good game was Golden Tate in week 1. He then shut down, TY Hilton, Dez, Garcon, and Alshon…. https://labs.statmuse.com/questions/b3a180d5-71a7-4c64-ba3a-6d29216eb11b

this gets explained every week. Football outsiders “1” receiver is subjective. It is not who WE identify as the known number one option on a team

  • brianupton20

kind of depends on how the defense plays them if they try to take out the biggest threat like a #1 WR they can just feed it to somebody else

  • Ryansixt

Strange that Dez, TY, Alshon, and Garcon wouldnt be called #1’s. Also it would seem that if this is the case that this positional breakdown doesnt help much if you have no idea how the numbers are evaluated.

  • Razl

Thank you Derek! But could you explain the Vegas line and how it works. I’m fairly new to DFS in NFL.

  • Logichog

    WR1 is considered outside receiver
    WR2 is considered slot receiver

In the case for arizona… Peterson shuts down the main outside receiver but the other receiver has big games… use this for your research… knowledge is power…

Hey BigTruck — added the color coding chart.

    Color Coding

    1) BLUE represents the “elite” category (top 25th percentile).
    2) GREEN represents the “above-average” category (top 50th percentile).
    3) YELLOW represents the “below-average” category (bottom 50th percentile).
    4) RED represents the “poor” category (bottom 25th percentile).

  • Rrich68

I believe it’s about where the players line up. Not who is perceived to be the number one.

A lot goes into DVOA rankings. When it comes to receivers, I like to look at individual WR/CB matchups instead of the DVOA against WR1, WR2, etc.

Sorry guys new to RG. How do I read the stats above? Is rank 1 best or 32? Just a little confused due the color codes. Blue means elite but ranked 32nd just doesn’t make sense to me.

Not sure which stat your looking at but Blue means elite because the Defense they are facing is ranked 32nd ( or last ) defending that position thus being an elite play.

  • Godeep292

With regards to Marked4Awins question if I understand correctly, according to DVOA Matchup the Jets have elite matchups against the patriots this week?

  • jreed310

I greatly appreciate the help with understanding this. I interpreted elite as how well defense played. That’s why rank number wasn’t correlating with me. Thanks again for the help.

Correct. But again, they are still the Jets.
