Week 1 of Sunday Night Football will feature the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants in an NFC East battle.
Both of these teams will be hoping for better results in 2026 after missing the playoffs a season ago. Dak Prescott and company enter the new campaign with renewed optimism after a strong draft and an aggressive offseason of roster overhaul. The Giants have a new coaching staff, beginning a new era in The Big Apple.
The NFL odds have the Cowboys as 3-point favorites on the spread. The total is set at over/under 47.5 points.

Best NFL Player Props for Cowboys vs. Giants
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, September 13th:
- Jaxson Dart Over/Under 212.5 Passing Yards
- Isaiah Likely Over/Under 34.5 Receiving Yards
- Dak Prescott Over/Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Jaxson Dart OVER 212.5 Passing Yards (-111, DraftKings)
DRAFTKINGSDart had an injury-plagued rookie year, but he flashed tremendous upside when he was able to stay healthy. Impressively, he put up strong numbers in his first season despite not having a great offensive line or his top receiver, Malik Nabers, available for much of his time on the field.
Dart gets a great matchup at home against a weak Dallas secondary unit in Week 1. This is a low number for a starting quarterback, especially against a defense that routinely gave up explosive plays in 2025.
Isaiah Likely OVER 34.5 Receiving Yards (-111, FanDuel)
FANDUELIf Dart is going to have a good night throwing the football, there will obviously be players on the receiving end of those throws. A favorite target of Dart throughout the summer was newcomer Likely, who had spent the early part of his career in Baltimore.
The 2026 Giants offense is going to make tight ends a focal point. Likely is the most talented tight end on the roster and clearly has good rapport with his new quarterback. This is a low number for a player who could threaten to lead the team in targets in Week 1.
Dak Prescott UNDER 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+122, Novig)
Quarterbacks who don’t play in the preseason have underperformed market expectations in Week 1 in recent years. In 2024, 9 of 10 such quarterbacks went under 1.5 passing touchdowns in his team’s season opener. In 2025, 6 of 10 such quarterbacks failed to throw multiple touchdowns.
Prescott was 1 of 12 quarterbacks to skip the entire preseason this year. Playing on the road against a divisional foe in the season opener is going to be a tough challenge for Prescott and the Cowboys passing attack.
