Week 4 of Sunday Night Football is shaping up to be a shootout, with the injury-plagued Detroit Lions facing the injury-plagued Carolina Panthers.
Both teams will be missing multiple starters in their defensive secondary unit, which could lead to a lot of big plays and entertaining offense.
Kickoff is set for 8:20 pm ET on NBC and Peacock.
The NFL odds for this matchup have shifted in favor of the Lions, who are now 3.5-point favorites as we approach kickoff. The total is set at over/under 52.5 points.
Below, you can find three of my favorite player props for Lions vs. Panthers!
Best NFL Player Props for Lions vs. Panthers
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, October 4th:
- Bryce Young Over/Under 35.5 Pass Attempts
- Chuba Hubbard Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
- Bryce Young Over/Under 39.5 Yards – Longest Reception
Bryce Young UNDER 35.5 Pass Attempts (-123, DraftKings)
The Panthers have been a pass-heavy offense early in 2026, but head coach Dave Canales has emphasized throughout this past week of practice that he would like to see a more balanced approach against the Lions.
The weather forecast looks less treacherous now than it did earlier in the week, but there is still rain in the area, which could also lead to a more ground-focused offensive attack for Carolina on Sunday Night Football.
Chuba Hubbard OVER 0.5 Touchdowns (-120, Fanatics)
Hubbard has been Carolina’s primary running back on plays inside the 10-yard line this season, and the absence of Jonathon Brooks only strengthens that role. Detroit allowed Kendre Miller to score on the ground in Week 1 and James Cook to score on the ground in Week 2. Breece Hall, the starting running back for the Jets, exited the game early in Week 3 against the Lions.
Hubbard is the clear lead option in Carolina’s backfield and has a good matchup on Sunday Night Football. This is a fair price for him to find pay dirt.
Bryce Young OVER 39.5 Yards – Longest Completion (-118, FanDuel)
The Lions have allowed 4 pass completions of 40+ yards through the first 3 weeks of the season – only the Colts have allowed more.
Detroit will once again be without both of their starting safeties in Week 4, which leaves them extremely vulnerable to big plays through the air. Interestingly, Detroit has continued to blitz aggressively and leave the middle of the field open despite their personnel shortcomings.
Young and the Panthers should have chances to make big plays in this matchup.
