What kind of performances can we expect on Sunday from Caleb Williams, Jahdae Walker, and Durham Smythe? Week 17 of Sunday Night Football lost some of its importance when the Packers lost on Saturday, but there is still plenty of intrigue surrounding this evening’s matchup between the Bears and 49ers.
Chicago is still fighting for the No. 2 playoff seed in the NFC, needing a win to stay ahead of Philadelphia – pending the results of this afternoon’s action. Meanwhile, the 49ers still have a realistic pathway to an NFC West division title and No. 1 playoff seed if they win tonight.
So there is still plenty to play for tonight! Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
Looking at the NFL odds for Sunday, the market is expecting a close contest, with the 49ers favored by only 3.5 points as of this writing. The total is set at over/under 51.5 points.
Below, you can find three of my favorite player props for Bears vs. 49ers!

Best NFL Player Props for Bears vs. 49ers
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, December 28th:
- Caleb Williams Over/Under 32.5 Passing Attempts
- Jahdae Walker Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
- Durham Smythe Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
Caleb Williams UNDER 32.5 Passing Attempts (-101, DraftKings)
Following Green Bay’s loss on Saturday, Chicago has officially clinched the NFC North division – which is fortunate, given the team’s injury report in Week 17. An illness has gone through the Bears’ locker room this week, potentially leaving WRs Luther Burden, Jahdae Walker, Devin Duvernay, and JP Richardson as the team’s top receivers on Sunday Night Football.
That list of pass catchers includes 3 rookies, 2 of whom were undrafted. Walker, Duvernay, and Richardson have combined for only 4 receptions in 2025. Suffice it to say, it wouldn’t make a ton of sense for the Bears to deploy an air-raid offense in this matchup.
Jahdae Walker Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+600, bet365)
In Week 16, Walker played a season-high 17 snaps and could realistically be the WR2 for Chicago tonight depending how the final injury report shakes out. Walker has a big frame at 6’3’’, 206 pounds – a good target in short-yardage situations and near the goal line.
If DJ Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus end up inactive, this is pretty good value.
Durham Smythe Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+2000, bet365)
Smythe has only 3 receptions in 2025, but it’s not impossible to think that he could see more pass-catching opportunities tonight if Chicago ends up very thin at the wide receiver position. San Francisco’s defense has struggled mightily to defend opposing passing attacks, including opposing tight ends.
A tight end leak near the end zone for Smythe’s 4th catch of the year would be a fun ticket to be able to send in your group chats later this evening.
