Playbook

This week’s edition of Sunday Night Football will feature Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs against Russell Wilson and the Giants. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.

Entering play in Week 3, both the Chiefs and Giants are 0-2. Since 2015, only 1 out of 41 teams to start 0-3 has managed to recover to make the playoffs. Of course, that puts tremendous emphasis on tonight’s matchup for both of these teams in what is as close to a must-win environment that could possibly exist this early in the year.

Looking at tonight’s NFL odds for Chiefs vs. Giants, oddsmakers certainly seem to expect a bounce-back performance from Mahomes and the Chiefs, pricing them as 6-point road favorites on the spread.

Best NFL Player Props for Chiefs vs. Giants

Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, September 21st:

Patrick Mahomes OVER 22.5 Completions (-105, BetMGM)

If there is one thing we can say with relative confidence after two weeks in 2025, it’s that the Giants pass defense once again looks like a liability. Entering play in Week 3, they have allowed the 7th-highest completion% of any defense in the NFL. They rank 30th in success rate allowed against the pass as well. Given Kansas City’s lack of an established ground game, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them attack the short-passing game frequently in this matchup.

Patrick Mahomes OVER 230.5 Passing Yards (-112, FanDuel)

Mahomes only had 187 passing yards against the Eagles in Week 2, but it’s worth noting that the Chiefs only ran 57 plays in that game and had the ball for only 27 minutes and 26 seconds. Mahomes also completed only 16-of-29 pass attempts – his 2nd-worst completion percentage in a single game since the beginning of last year. The Giants’ defense often sells out to stop the run, which leaves them vulnerable to big plays through the air. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Mahomes clear this number with ease on Sunday Night Football.

Noah Gray OVER 14.5 Receiving Yards (-109, DraftKings)

Gray has only 2 receptions to begin the new season, but he was targeted 5 times in Week 2. In Week 3, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him worked into the game plan again, especially after TE Travis Kelce bungled a touchdown catch last weekend. Gray is a very talented tight end, one who simply is blocked on the depth chart by a future hall of famer. That being said, Kansas City can’t afford to start 0-3 – they will need their best players on the field on Sunday Night Football.
