Week 8 of Sunday Night Football will feature Jordan Love and the Packers against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
The Packers narrowly avoided being upset as big favorites in Week 7 against the Cardinals, needing a late score to come away with a 27-23 victory. However, it’s worth noting that they had a lengthy injury report ahead of that matchup in addition to dealing with some troublesome travel issues getting to Phoenix.
Last time we saw the Steelers play, they were 5.5-point favorites over the Bengals on Thursday Night Football, but they lost 33-31 – allowing Joe Flacco to throw for 342 yards and Chase Brown to run for 108 yards. Tonight, their struggling defense will be put to the test against one of the league’s more efficient offensive attacks.
Despite these teams seemingly trending in opposite directions, the NFL Odds for tonight’s action indicate that the market is expecting a rather competitive game, with the Packers favored by only 3 points on the spread. The total is set at over/under 45.5 points.

Best NFL Player Props for Packers vs. Steelers
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, October 26th:
- Jordan Love Over/Under 240.5 Passing Yards
- Luke Musgrave Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
- Aaron Rodgers Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
Jordan Love OVER 240.5 Passing Yards (-111, DraftKings)
According to the Packers’ injury report, Dontayvion Wicks has already been ruled out, and Matthew Golden is listed as questionable. That being said, Green Bay’s passing attack hasn’t funneled the ball to any one receiver in particular this fall, so they should be able to effectively manage a missing body or two in this matchup. Through 7 weeks, 5 different players have 20+ targets for the Packers.
On Sunday, Green Bay is also expected to get Christian Watson back on the field for the first time since he tore his ACL at the end of last year’s regular season. He gets a good matchup right out of the gate, facing a Pittsburgh pass defense that ranks 19th in success rate and 21st in EPA/play.
Love will still have capable receivers to throw the ball to this evening. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him have a strong game through the air.
Luke Musgrave Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+1100, BetMGM)
Musgrave only has 5 receptions this season, but it wouldn’t be overly shocking to see him earn another target or 2 tonight, with Green Bay potentially down a couple of options in their receiving corps.
Despite a lack of recent targets, Musgrave has been on the field a decent amount for the Packers of late, logging 11+ passing snaps in each of the team’s last 3 games. Last Thursday, Pittsburgh allowed 4 receptions, 44 receiving yards, and a touchdown to tight end Noah Fant. There is potential for Musgrave to have an opportunity near the goal line in this matchup.
Aaron Rodgers Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+3300, BetMGM)
Rodgers hasn’t scored a rushing touchdown since 2022, which was before he tore his Achilles. Since that point, we have seen very little mobility from him in general. Through 7 weeks in 2025, he’s on pace for a career-low output in rushing yards, with only 18 rushing yards in 6 games.
All of that is to say that Rodgers scoring a rushing touchdown tonight is extremely unlikely, but it’s not impossible. This is a “revenge game” for Rodgers, who had a not-so-amicable split with the Packers following the 2022 season. Running in for a score against his former team could be a fun narrative bet to follow this evening on Sunday Night Football.
