Week 2 of Thursday Night Football features a pair of the league’s most talented teams, with the Detroit Lions visiting the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park.
Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
Heading into the game, the NFL odds have the Bills garnering significant market support, moving from 3-point favorites on the look-ahead line to 5.5-point favorites as kickoff approaches. The total is set at over/under 53.5 points.

Best NFL Player Props for Lions vs. Bills
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM ET on Thursday, September 17th:
- Josh Allen Over/Under 21.5 Completions
- Jahmyr Gibbs Over/Under 18.5 Rushing Attempts
- Jameson Williams Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
Josh Allen UNDER 21.5 Completions (-125, Novig)
Allen averaged 13.2 air yards per pass attempt in Buffalo’s season opener and had a career-high 5 completions of 30+ yards in the win.
Throughout the offseason, the coaching staff in Buffalo has talked about wanting to be more explosive through the air – that was on full display in Week 1 against a formidable Houston defense.
The consequence of taking a lot of deep shots is that completions go down. Allen had only 20 completions on 29 attempts in Week 1 in what was a pass-heavy game script for the Bills. If Buffalo has a more balanced offensive approach on Thursday against Detroit, it could make it even more difficult for Allen to clear this number.
Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 18.5 Rushing Attempts (-108, Novig)
In Week 1, Gibbs was the league’s most productive running back from 11-personnel against nickel and dime defenses. He totaled 107 rushing yards and a 76.9% success rate in such situations against the Saints, forcing 3 missed tackles en route to a strong performance on the ground.
Importantly, backup running back Isiah Pacheco is on injured reserve, leaving Detroit without a clear change-of-pace option to Gibbs. Sione Vaki only totaled 2 carries in Week 1, with Gibbs toting the rock 29 times.
Buffalo safety Cole Bishop aligned in the box on 38.3% of his snaps in Week 1, which was a significant uptick from 2025 when he was in the box only 17% of the time. He is an integral component of the Bills run defense but is questionable for Thursday’s matchup after suffering a leg injury against the Texans. If he’s not at 100%, that only increases the likelihood of Gibbs having another productive day running the football.
Expect Gibbs to be fed plenty of opportunities again in Week 2.
Jameson Williams OVER 0.5 Touchdowns (+228, Novig)
Williams was one of the league’s most productive receivers against single-high coverage in 2025, ranking inside the top 10 in receiving yards, yards-per-reception, and receiving touchdowns.
Williams struggled with drops in Detroit’s season opener, but not with creating separation. Head coach Dan Campbell didn’t seem overly upset or punitive towards Williams in his postgame press conference, instead commending him for making the next play after his mistakes.
Williams is a threat to find the end zone on Thursday in what could be a high-scoring affair.
