What kind of performances can we expect on Thursday Night Football from Sam Darnold, Jaylen Waddle, and Velus Jones Jr.? Week 6 of Thursday Night Football will feature Sam Darnold and the Seahawks against Bo Nix and the Broncos. The Seahawks and Broncos both entered the season with Super Bowl expectations, but both teams are barely above .500 through 5 games, and the Broncos have scored the 7th-fewest points in the NFL. These teams will look to get their season back on track starting this evening.
Kickoff is set for 8:15 PM ET on Prime Video.
The NFL odds have the Seahawks favored by 2.5 points ahead of kickoff after opening as 1.5-point favorites. Teams that have gained 1+ point of market movement this season are 21-16-1 ATS and 24-14 SU, winning at a rate 5% above market expectation. The total is set at 40.5 points.
Below, you can find three of my favorite player props for Seahawks vs. Broncos!
Best NFL Player Props for Seahawks vs. Broncos
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM ET on Thursday, October 15th:
- Sam Darnold Over/Under 18.5 Completions
- Jaylen Waddle Over/Under 3.5 Receptions
- Velus Jones Jr. Over/Under 0.5 Touchdowns
Sam Darnold OVER 18.5 Completions (-132, FanDuel)
Denver has already ruled out star cornerback Patrick Surtain and starting safety Talanoa Hufanga, and Riley Moss is listed as questionable as of this writing. That means Denver could be without three starters in their secondary.
Earlier this week, Darnold told the media that he wants to “get the ball out faster and be more decisive” after holding the ball too long in recent games, leading to negative plays. This is a great matchup for Darnold to complete some easy passes near the line of scrimmage, especially considering Seattle’s struggles in the run game.
Jaylen Waddle OVER 3.5 Receptions (-180, DraftKings)
Waddle has cleared this number in only 2 of 5 games this season, but it hasn’t been due to a lack of opportunity. Since Week 2, Waddle has seen 5+ targets in each of Denver’s 4 games, including a 10-target game against the Jaguars.
Seattle has a tremendous secondary, but they are on the road on a short week and playing at altitude. That isn’t an easy task for any opponent.
Waddle led Denver with 5 first-read targets in Sean Payton’s first game calling plays this season. Waddle is tied for the team lead in first-read targets since Week 2 and has seen a target on 22.8% of his routes run, which is ahead of Courtland Sutton.
Velus Jones Jr. OVER 0.5 Anytime Touchdowns (+2700, FanDuel)
Jones is a big running back, listed at 6’0” and 204 pounds. Seattle’s top two running backs, Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price, are both on injured reserve. The team’s next men up, Emanuel Wilson and George Holani, both lost a fumble in Week 5 against the 49ers.
It’s not unreasonable to think Jones could see an opportunity or two at some point tonight.
