This week’s NFL action will begin with an NFC showdown between the 49ers and Rams on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video from SoFi Stadium.

A week ago, this matchup looked like it could be a potential heavyweight battle, with the winner taking sole possession of 1st place in the division. However, the 49ers’ injury report went south in the last couple of days, ultimately leading to them ruling out nearly all of their best players on the offensive side of the ball.

As a result, the NFL Odds for this game have moved considerably. Prior to Week 1, the Rams were 2.5-point favorites on the look-ahead line. As of last week, that line had moved to 3 points. Hours before kickoff, the Rams are 8.5-point favorites on the consensus line.

Below, you can find three of my favorite player props for 49ers vs. Rams!

Best NFL Player Props for 49ers vs. Rams

Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM ET on Thursday, October 2nd:

Davante Adams OVER 56.5 Receiving Yards (-112, FanDuel)

Through 4 games, Adams has been the clear Robin to Puka Nacua’s Batman in this Los Angeles passing attack. Nacua leads the team with a 18.6% first-read target%, followed by Adams at 13.1%. No other member of the Rams offense is above 2.1%. Tonight, Adams should have plenty of opportunities to make plays given the general lack of a pass rush we have seen from the 49ers since Nick Bosa went down with a season-ending injury. It’s possible we see Adams post his best game to date in 2025 if the game script remains somewhat competitive.

Terrance Ferguson Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+850, DraftKings)

Ferguson was the Rams’ 2nd-round pick this past summer out of Oregon. During his final year at the collegiate level, Ferguson tied Oregon’s single-season tight end record with 43 receptions and added 591 receiving yards.

Ferguson missed time during training camp with a groin injury, but the organization clearly thinks highly of him. In Week 2, Ferguson was active since Colby Parkinson was dealing with an injury. Ferguson played only 4 snaps in that game, but that’s likely because Parkinson is primarily a blocking tight end.

If Tyler Higbee is ultimately ruled out this evening, we could see Ferguson see a much larger workload given that he would be replacing the team’s primary receiving tight end. At the price, this is a very worthwhile risk for a small stab.

Tutu Atwell OVER 8.5 Receiving Yards (-112, FanDuel)

Atwell has the potential to put together a strong performance this evening against the 49ers. San Francisco’s defensive philosophy involves keeping their safeties relatively close to the line of scrimmage, which leaves them more vulnerable than many other teams when it comes to defending the deep ball.

Through 4 weeks, the 49ers defense has allowed the 11th-most EPA/play on throws 20+ yards downfield, per Blaine Grisak. One significant area of risk in this matchup is that the 49ers have struggled mightily to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks since losing EDGE Nick Bosa to a season-ending knee injury in Week 3.

Matthew Stafford has some of the starkest splits in the entire NFL when kept clean compared to when he’s under pressure. This season, Stafford is completing 77.5% of his passes for a 114.0 passer rating when kept clean but only has a 48.9% completion rate and a 91.0 passer rating when under duress. If the Rams can give him good protection on Thursday, we could see a few more deep shots downfield – an area where Atwell thrives.
