Week 8 of the NFL regular season will begin with a matchup between the Vikings and Chargers on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video from SoFi Stadium.

Both of these teams have struggled in recent weeks, with Minnesota losing 2 of their last 3 games and the Chargers being only 1-3 SU since opening the year with 3 consecutive victories. Part of the issue has been related to injuries. The Vikings haven’t had the same starting offensive line combination in consecutive games since Week 2. On the other side of this matchup, the Chargers lost starting LT Rashawn Slater to injured reserve before the season even began. Since that point, LT/RT Joe Alt, RT Trey Pipkins III, and RG Mekhi Becton have all been in and out of the lineup as well.

The net result of all of the aforementioned injuries is that neither the Vikings nor the Chargers is currently viewed as a dominant team. Looking at the NFL Odds for tonight’s action, the market agrees, with the Chargers favored by only 3 points on the spread.

Best NFL Player Props for Vikings vs. Chargers

Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM ET on Thursday, October 23rd:

Jordan Mason OVER 52.5 Rushing Yards (-112, FanDuel)

Mason has been the clear lead option in Minnesota’s backfield in recent weeks. Aaron Jones has been activated from injured reserve ahead of Thursday’s matchup, but it’s doubtful that he immediately establishes a near 50% workload for himself given how well Mason has run with Jones on the mend.

Even if Jones is more involved than expected this evening, this is an exploitable matchup for both parties. The Chargers have had one of the league’s worst run defenses early this season, and their recent acquisition of Odafe Oweh only further exacerbates that vulnerability.

Aaron Jones OVER 25.5 Rushing Yards (-112, FanDuel)

Jones isn’t expected to see a massive workload on Thursday against the Chargers, but he might not have to be handed many carries to have a chance to go over this number. As mentioned above, the Chargers have struggled mightily to defend the run this season.

Even with Los Angeles returning a pair of defensive starters from injured reserve prior to this past weekend’s game against the Colts, they were mostly ineffectual trying to stop Indianapolis on the ground. They are likely to continue to struggle in this area tonight.

Jalen Nailor OVER 16.5 Receiving Yards (-112, FanDuel)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONFANDUEL

Nailor isn’t the biggest name in Minnesota’s passing attack, but he’s consistently carved out a role for himself this season. Nailor has received 3+ targets in every game he’s played in 2025, including 5 consecutive games with 5+ targets.

The Chargers’ pass defense hasn’t been anything to write home about during the early part of this season. On a short week, when star players sometimes see a slight reduction in workload, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Nailor continue being an integral part of the Minnesota passing attack.
