Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Week 17

Eagles QB Hurts

Week 17 brings us a smorgasbord of weather, from calm weather Christmas Day to rain chances and gusty winds by Sunday.

This NFL weather report will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 17 Weather Report and Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter/X @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my main weather page. A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Christmas Day, December 25th

Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Commanders – A sprinkle of rain wouldn’t shock me pregame, but in-game it looks dry, with temps in the 50s and winds under 10mph.

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings – Game indoors, no issues.

Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs – Mild weather with temps in the 50s, no rain, and light winds.

Saturday Slate, December 27th

Houston Texans @ LA Chargers – Indoors at SoFi.

Baltimore Ravens @ Green Bay Packers – Chilly, with a temperature in the 30s, but winds look fairly light and rain likely holds off until after the game.

Sunday Main Slate, December 28th

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns – Rain looks likely here. We’ll need to wait until closer to game time to know the specifics of the rain, but it has the potential to be heavy. Winds around 10-15mph with gusts a bit over 20mph.

New Orleans Saints @ Tennessee Titans – A chance for a sprinkle, winds around 15mph sustained, gusts up to 30mph.

New England Patriots @ New York Jets – Temperatures in the 30s with light winds. Rain looks like a “post-game” issue, not in-game, but we’re probably too far out to know that for certain.

Arizona Cardinals @ Cincinnati Bengals – Some light rain is possible, but for now, models keep the heavy stuff away until after the game. Winds around 10-15mph sustained, gusts 25+.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Buffalo Bills – The heaviest of the rain might hold just south of Orchard Park, but it still looks fairly wet to me. Good chance for some rain, winds are manageable around 10mph, temps are chilly in the low 40s.

Sunday Night Football, December 28th

Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers – Dry, with mild temps and manageable winds.

Monday Night Football, December 29th

LA Rams @ Atlanta Falcons – Indoors, no worries.

How Will the Weather in Week 17 Affect Betting & Fantasy Football Picks?

A bunch of games here have rain chances, and as always, we need to wait until close to kickoff to really understand the specifics of the rain in those cases. Right now my game of greatest concern is Cleveland, as that game looks like it could be a soaker. I’m also watching Buffalo closely for rain, and will continue to monitor winds in Tennessee.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter/X as we get closer to kickoff.
