NFL Week 3: A Valuable Lineup
NFL Week 3: A Valuable Lineup

How to Read the Table: Each week we will give you our most ‘Valuable Lineup’. These are our top-picks while factoring in the cost of that player at a certain site or sites. The first number listed for each player and under each site is how much it will cost you to acquire that player for your lineup for that specific site, and the second number (after the forward slash) is the max cost for a player of the same position on that same site. While we definitely recommend this lineup for the week, you can almost always create a more optimal lineup depending on the site you use and their salary structure. To do that, make sure to hone your skills by playing as much as possible and discussing strategy in our forums.

A Valuable Lineup – NFL Week 3
| Position | Notes | FanDuel Cost/Max Cost |
|---|---|---|
| QB1 – Alex Smith | Smith bounced back in a big way in Week 2 vs. New Orleans, and this season he might finally be living up to his draft position. He doesn’t have the largest upside, but I think he is a safe play that could easily earn 3 total TDs and should ease past 200 yards. | $6,800/$9,900 |
| RB1 – Mike Tolbert | Tolbert looked very impressive last week in Ryan Matthew’s absence. I would expect similar numbers in Week 3 vs. Seattle | $6,500/$9,400 |
| RB2 Darren McFadden | He’s earned the featured back spot. There were discussions of 30 touches this week, so I wouldn’t be worried about Michael Bush’s return. | $6,600/$9,400 |
| WR1 – Mark Clayton | Clayton is the clear #1 WR in St. Louis now. With Laurent Robinson likely out and Bradford looking good, Clayton is an awesome value play this week. | $5,600/$7,400 |
| WR2 – Percy Harvin | Being a life-long Florida Gator fan I can testify with absolute confidence that Percy Harvin is a hypochondriac. His hip is fine, Favre will bounce-back, and Harvin could be a Top 5 WR this week vs. Detroit | $5,500/$7,400 |
| WR3 – Johnny Knox | With Aromashodu taking a backseat, and a shoot-out in store, look for Knox to put up large numbers | $5,200/$7,400 |
| TE1 – Zach Miller | Gradkowski seems to find a way to get Oakland’s offense going. This is a good week for him to steal the Job from Campbell against Arizona’s Pass D, and Zach Miller should be a large part of that. | $5,100/$7,100 |
| Kicker – Ryan Longwell | The over/under for this game is projected at 43, and it is the Vikings offense vs. the Lions Defense. | $5,200/$6,100 |
| D/ST – Washington Redskins | Even without Haynesworth, the Redskins defense kept Dallas’ offense in check. This week they get rookie QB Bradford and a banged-up Steven Jackson | $5,800/$6,300 |
| Total Salary Cost | $52,300 | of $60,000 |
|---|
