Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Week 5

Jaguars QB Lawrence

Week 5 brings us some fairly quiet weather across the NFL landscape, but there’s still a spot or two I’ll be keeping an eye on.

This NFL Weather report will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 5 Weather Report and Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter/X @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my main weather page.

A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Thursday Night Football, October 2nd

San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams – Closed roof, no issues.

Sunday Morning International Game, October 5th

Minnesota Vikings @ Cleveland Browns – It’s a bit breezy in London, with winds around 15 mph, but the stadium design of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looks fairly closed off despite the open roof and likely minimizes any real impact.

Sunday Main Slate, October 5th

Tampa Bay Bucs @ Seattle Seahawks – A gentle breeze, but I’m not expecting anything over 10 mph, so I don’t expect any real issues.

Sunday Night Football, October 5th

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills – Great weather in Orchard Park, calm winds, mild temps, and no precipitation. We’ll have to wait a bit later in the season for these Buffalo games to get more exciting.

Monday Night Football, October 6th

Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars – The one game with any rain concerns this week, we’ll see the typical Florida pattern of afternoon downpours. Most of the rain will be clear or clearing by kickoff, but a lingering shower or storm in the first half is still possible. Winds should be around 10 mph sustained, not quite enough to have any real impact.

How Will the Weather in Week 5 Affect Betting & Fantasy Football Picks?

I don’t see anything this week that I would alter fantasy football plays for or make sports bets over. I’ll keep a watch on Jacksonville for a potential spotty downpour, but we won’t really know the outcome there until closer to kickoff, and at this point it seems more likely to stay dry than see rain.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter as we get closer to kickoff.
