Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Week 7
Week 7 of the NFL brings us a mixed bag—some nice weather games for sure, but also a few with rain and wind concerns.
This NFL weather report will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.
NFL Week 7 Weather Report and Forecast
As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter/X @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my main weather page. A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.
Thursday Night Football, October 16th
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals – Mild temps, light winds, no precipitation = no worries.
Sunday Morning International Game, October 19th
LA Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Some light showers are possible, but the overall weather impact here should stay low with light winds.
Sunday Main Slate, October 19th
New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears – Most of the rain clears before the game, but some lingering showers during the game are still possible. Winds should come in around (or even a hair over) 15 mph, with gusts to 30 mph. That will impact some longer throws and kicks.
New England Patriots @ Tennessee Titans – Rain showers are possible, with winds of 10-15 mph.
Miami Dolphins @ Cleveland Browns – Rain looks fairly likely, though rainfall totals should hold around 1/10th of an inch of rain. Winds before the game look strong, and winds post-game look strong, but for now models are keeping in-game rain at 10-15 mph. That is certainly something I’ll be keeping an eye on in the coming days.
Sunday Night Football, October 19th
Atlanta Falcons @ San Francisco 49ers – Mild temps with light winds and no rain, all good for SNF.
Monday Night Football, October 20th
Tampa Bay Bucs @ Detroit Lions – Indoors…no issues.
Houston Texans @ Seattle Seahawks – Winds stay fairly light with a typical chance of a Pacific Northwest sprinkle or drizzle. Overall I’d call the impacts here “low.”
How Will the Weather in Week 7 Affect Betting & Fantasy Football Picks?
Without question the 2 games I’m most interested in weather-wise are in Chicago and Cleveland. Both carry a chance for rain, and both bring the potential for some impactful winds. If either of those games reaches sustained winds of 20 mph, I would consider it a more significant impact to the passing game and offenses; for now, I have it as a slight bump down to passing and kicking.
In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter/X as we get closer to kickoff.
