Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Week 7

Saints RB Kamara

Week 7 of the NFL brings us the most active weather we’ve seen so far this year. There are some nice weather games mixed in, but plenty of wind and rain to contend with.

This NFL weather report will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 7 Weather Report and Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter/X @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my main weather page. A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Sunday Morning International Game, October 19th

LA Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Rain is likely. Currently I’m expecting a fairly consistent light-to-moderate rain.

Sunday Main Slate, October 19th

New Orleans Saints @ Chicago Bears – Most of the rain, if not all of the rain here clears before kickoff. Winds are the greater issue, coming in at 15-20mph sustained, gusts around or even a hair over 30mph.

New England Patriots @ Tennessee Titans – Rain showers are possible with winds gradually building to between 15-20mph and gusts around 30mph.

Miami Dolphins @ Cleveland Browns – Rain looks fairly likely here, and wind is a big concern as well. Models are bringing some of the strongest winds pregame, where winds could reach 25mph and gust to 40mph. I do expect winds will gradually drop during the game, starting around 20mph sustained (gusts over 30mph), and ending around 15mph sustained with gusts around 25mph. That is, to be clear, impactful weather, and should make passing and kicking difficult, though not impossible.

Sunday Night Football, October 19th

Atlanta Falcons @ San Francisco 49ers – Mild temps with light winds and no rain, all good for SNF.

Monday Night Football, October 20th

Tampa Bay Bucs @ Detroit Lions – Indoors…no issues.

Houston Texans @ Seattle Seahawks – Winds stay fairly light with a typical chance of a Pacific Northwest sprinkle or drizzle. Overall I’d call the impacts here “low.”

How Will the Weather in Week 7 Affect Betting & Fantasy Football Picks?

Without question the 2 games I’m most interested in weather-wise are in Chicago and Cleveland. Both carry a chance for rain, and both bring the potential for some impactful winds. If either of those games reaches sustained winds of 20 mph, I would consider it a more significant impact to the passing game and offenses; for now, I have it as a slight bump down to passing and kicking.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter/X as we get closer to kickoff.
