Weather Report and Forecast for NFL Week 8

Chiefs WR Rice

Week 8 of the NFL brings us much quieter weather than what we saw last week. I don’t expect any wind issues and only a slim chance of any rain.

This NFL weather report will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week. If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter/X @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my main weather page. A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Thursday Night Football, October 23rd

Minnesota Vikings @ LA Chargers – SoFi stadium has a roof, so no worries here (also the weather is perfect anyways, because L.A.).

Sunday Main Slate, October 26th

Dallas Cowboys @ Denver Broncos – We could squeeze out a little shower here. Models are coming in with a few hundredths of an inch of rain, so even if we get a shower, I wouldn’t expect anything too impactful.

Sunday Night Football, October 26th

Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers – It’s a little chilly, with temps in the 40s, but not impactful. I don’t even consider temperature as a factor until temps are below freezing, and even then, it’s not a very significant impact.

Monday Night Football, October 27th

Washington Commanders @ Kansas City Chiefs – The most likely game to see rain this week, but overall rain chances are still only around 30%. We could catch a shower, maybe even a brief downpour, but we won’t really know the specifics (whether the rain ends up over the stadium or just near the stadium) until closer to kickoff.

How Will the Weather in Week 8 Affect Betting & Fantasy Football Picks?

Just a couple of games with a lowish chance for rain. If we get closer to kickoff and it looks like a downpour is headed for Denver or (more likely) K.C. on MNF, it would be a bump down to the passing attack, but for now, I think you go about any fantasy or betting as if weather is not a factor.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar GIFs to Twitter/X as we get closer to kickoff.
