NFL Weekly Plays: Wild Card QBs & Weekly Promotions
I’m in an interesting spot here. Taking the QB’s article this week with only 8 guys on the board to be choosing from(unless you plan on taking a deep shot at predicting an injury.) So before I dive into this 2-paragraph daily plays article, I’ll bring on some of the daily fantasy promotions going on around the industry for Wild Card Weekend. Because after you strike gold with my quarterbacks you’re going to want to be in as many big GPPs as possible.

NFL Wild Card Weekend Quarterbacks
Alright now down to business, here’s who you should be thinking about this weekend at the QB spot.

Quarterback Stud
Aaron Rodgers – Call it a cop out but Rodgers is simply the best QB option this weekend and he bears a pretty high price tag. If you can afford him, be sure to get him in your lineup as he draws a Minnesota defense that he tossed 4 TDs and 365 passing yards against last week and that was when the game was in Minnesota. In Green Bay, and the playoffs, look for Rodgers to hit around those numbers again and be the best stud QB available this weekend.
Quarterback Value Pick
Andy Dalton – Not too many teams have been as bad as the Houston Texans over the final 4 weeks of the season. If there’s something most NFL teams try to avoid, it’s backing into the playoffs. And here come the Bengals in a rematch of a Wild Card Round game a year ago. Well look for Dalton to provide solid value as probably the 5th highest priced QB on most daily fantasy sites. Hook him up with A.J. Green and I think you’ll be pleased.
Quarterback Cheap Choice
Joe Flacco – He has been substantially better at home than on the road this season, averaging 22 FPPG at home and just 12 FPPG on the road. And with the 30th ranked Colts pass defense coming into town I think you are looking at a really good sleeper play here. If you don’t think he qualifies as a sleeper then look at some of his salaries, because on a bunch of sites he is one of the two cheapest starting QB available. He has big upside as well, as he has posted 5 games this season with over 20 fantasy points(all of which have come at home.)
Quick Thoughts on the Other QBs
Alright well that’s what I got for you. As far as the other guys go, I think Schaub has a decent game but the Bengals defense is a bit underrated in my eyes. RG3 draws an incredible Seahawks defense and while I love the way he’s played this year, I don’t know if he can put up the fantasy stats to pay off his high price this weekend. Russell Wilson has a good matchup and could definitely be a great play but his price has skyrocketed on most sites so you will likely need around 24 fantasy points from him to provide value, which is not a guarantee especially as a rookie QB on the road in the playoffs. Ponder is a nice sleeper play if he’s significantly cheaper than anyone else but the return of Woodson to Green Bay makes their defense a whole lot more intimidating. Andrew Luck is another guy I view with the “rookie QB on the road in the playoffs” goggles. He has carried his team all season long but the playoffs are a different animal and that Baltimore crowd is going to be bananas.
Hopefully this helps a bit and feel free to add your thoughts and opinions below. Good luck this weekend Grinders!
