The Case for Rick Nash — 10/19/2017
Tonight’s slate is a perfect one, nine games. Not too few, not too many. As such, there a quite a few good spots, but not spots that I think people should be clamoring over to attack. One of the spots I like, though it may seem crazy given their record, is the New York Rangers at home against the New York Islanders. Specifically, I like Rick Nash tonight, and I will outline why herein.
There seems to be a growing sentiment that Alain Vigneault might be out in New York if they don’t turn things around fast. While this may very well be true, the numbers so far this year would suggest that their poor results basically come down to a mixture of bad puck luck and a possibly regressing Henrik Lundqvist. Their actual play hasn’t been all that bad. One of those players that has been playing very well offensively, but has had nothing to show for it, is Rick Nash.
