NHL Daily Plays: Monday, November 10th
![]()
Mondays are not fun as we all head back to work, but the good thing is we can play some daily fantasy hockey. If you are anything like me, you look forward to various articles or information coming out throughout the day that may help you with your hockey lineup. Hopefully I am one of those pieces to the puzzle.
We only have two games tonight, but if you are reading this article, you are likely a grinder and looking forward to playing regardless. With only four teams in action, there will be a lot of similar lineups out there in both your cash games and your GPPs. Going contrarian would be wise in tournament play.
GOALTENDERS
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.

Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins – The Bruins are heavily favored this evening, and for good reason. The New Jersey Devils have lost three games in a row and their offense is really struggling. Despite losing their two best defensemen to injury (Zdeno Chara & Torey Krug), Boston has now won four in a row and Rask has looked great in his past three starts. I expect the Bruins to keep rolling tonight and Rask is easily your best choice in net.
Editor’s Note – If Niklas Svedberg gets the start, play him with confidence and enjoy the discount.
Other Goalies To Target (Cash Games) – None
Other Goalies To Target (Tournaments) – Jonas Hiller, Cam Ward
CENTER

Eric Staal, Carolina Hurricanes – Eric Staal is an integral part of the Carolina Hurricanes’ offense. Carolina has won four of their past five games and Staal is looking better in every game. Staal had a goal and five shots in his last game versus Washington and should start to score at a point-per-game pace the rest of the season. With few options at center tonight, Staal makes a solid value play.
Sean Monahan, Calgary Flames – Don’t look now but the Calgary Flames are playing some good hockey and Sean Monahan is leading the way. Monahan has points in five straight games, including a goal and an assist in his last game against Florida. Monahan is hot and how can you go wrong with his price tag?
Other Centers To Target (Cash Games) – Patrice Bergeron
Other Centers To Target (Tournaments) – Carl Soderberg, Travis Zajac
WING
Brad Marchand, Boston Bruins – Marchand has four goals and seven points in his last four games, and has been the Bruins’ best player during that stretch. Boston is a huge favorite tonight and I expect Marchand to have another good game this evening.
Alexander Semin, Carolina Hurricanes – If you are looking for a guy who will be under-owned yet has huge GPP upside, Semin fits the bill. He is not your best bet in cash games, but with only 4 teams on the ice, he does factor in for GPPs. Semin plays on both the Canes’ top line and number one powerplay unit. Semin is inexpensive and has “Hat Trick” upside.

Reilly Smith, Boston Bruins – I am not in love with the Bruins offense by any means, but our options are extremely limited and Boston appears to be the safest option tonight. Smith is cheap and will see plenty of minutes on the powerplay and alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand on Boston’s top line.
Other Wingers To Target (Cash Games) – Jiri Hudler, Loui Eriksson, Johnny Gaudreau, Jiri Tlusty
Other Wingers To Target (Tournaments) – Jeff Skinner, Milan Lucic, Jaromir Jagr, Seth Griffith, Michael Ryder
DEFENSE
Mark Giordano, Calgary Flames – Giordano has been nothing short of brilliant (5 G, 18 PTS, +8, 17 PIM in 16 GP) for the Flames this season. Giordano has been arguably the best all around defensemen in hockey and if you can afford him, I recommend paying up.

Dougie Hamilton, Boston Bruins – Hamilton continues to thrive as the Bruins’ number one defensemen. He had a monster game (1 G, 2 A, +1, 2 PIM, 4 SOG) against Edmonton Thursday night and has multi-point upside again tonight. At $4,700, I suggest you find a way to roster him.
Other Defensemen To Target (Cash Games) – T.J. Brodie, Justin Faulk
Other Defensemen To Target (Tournaments) – Marek Zidlicky, Andrej Sekera, Damon Severson
