NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Monday, April 6
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
Moneyball16: Macklin Celebrini
Joda: Macklin Celebrini
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – The smaller the slate, the more I like stacking a goalie with skaters, and the more useful playing a goalie with leverage against popular plays becomes. So, if I am playing Chicago skaters, unless I am also playing their opponent’s (the Sharks) skaters in the same lineup, I am probably playing Chicago’s goalie, Spencer Knight, for example. If the Chicago skaters produce enough to give me a chance to win a GPP, the goal support should boost the win odds enough for Knight to combine with solid save totals to give him one of the best, if not the best, goalie scores of the night on such a small slate, and he would do it as a cheap goalie.
Joda: Large-field tournaments – For such a small slate, there is a lot at stake. Buffalo is 2 points behind Tampa Bay in the Atlantic. Winnipeg and Seattle are trying to sneak into the playoffs. The Kings and Predators are tied for the final wild-card spot. San Jose draws the only matchup against a team with nothing to play for. Everything starts with Macklin Celebrini, who has roared into the Hart Trophy conversation. I’ll be looking to this game for offense, as I think the other games could be tighter than usual.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
