What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field tournaments – I think going with mid-priced, more-correlated stacks might be the way to go on this slate. The value on the slate is rather subpar, and the studs are David Pastrnak and Auston Matthews, two guys that can easily go off without their linemates performing well, or Nikita Kucherov, who will likely play with a number of different linemates. If, for example, Matt Boldy hits his ceiling, you can be more confident that the players he is playing with will also have a good game.
Joda: Large-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. This slate is interesting in the sense that all of the superstars (i.e. David Pastrnak, Auston Matthews, and Nikita Kucherov) check in as strong plays, but their linemates have elevated price tags and/or are not on the team’s top power play. I think we could see DFS lineups reflect this, where these expensive forwards check in with 2-3 times the ownership of their forgotten linemates. On a small slate like this, I am more inclined to take my chances and include them.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
