NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, March 4
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Moneyball16: Morgan Rielly – Against Boston, I don’t think he’s going to get much ownership today, as they’ve allowed the 7th-fewest goals this season. However, they do have a weakness and it’s that they take a lot of penalties, and have allowed the 10th-most power-play goals this season. Over the past 2 years, around 40% of his points have come on the power play, and I think he has underrated offensive upside here, with the added bonus of a solid base of shots and blocked shots.
ezellmt: Owen Tippett – I think Tippett will carry some ownership, but it won’t be too extreme because he’s difficult to fit in with any sort of Avalanche stack. His game logs are a GPP player’s dream. They’ve been either single-digit fantasy points or 20+ points in 5 straight. The team will still be without Travis Konecny, so even more offensive responsibilities will continue to be placed on him.
Joda: Sam Reinhart – Over the Rangers’ last 5 games, they have allowed a league-high 40+ shot attempts per 60 minutes at even strength. New York’s top line of Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider has not looked good together, but Igor Shesterkin has been running hot. Florida is elite, and Reinhart has flashed his ceiling many times this season.
