NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, April 6

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Auston Matthews – Montreal is a great matchup, as they are a bad team that takes a lot of penalties. The Leafs have the highest total on the slate, and Matthews is a great player who is playing at the top of his game. He is shooting the puck a lot, gunning for 70 goals this season, and the chemistry he has shown with Domi and Bertuzzi has been top notch.

TastefulTides: Auston Matthews – He has put up over 20 DK points in 8 straight games and has goals in 3 straight. This is a fantastic matchup against Montreal. We should see the Leafs have plenty of offensive zone time, which should result in plenty of shot attempts for Matthews. Montreal also has a bottom-10 penalty kill, which only adds to the floor/ceiling combination of Matthews.

Joda: Auston Matthews – It has been a season of epic proportions for Matthews, who has 63 goals. His shot volume gives him a strong floor, and he seems to score in every game. Matthews had a hat trick earlier this season against Montreal. The Canadiens will also be without one of their better defenders, Kaiden Guhle. Arber Xhekaj is also out.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
