NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, February 10

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Auston Matthews – The Sens goaltending situation sucks, and they allow a lot of power-play goals, which is perfect for Matthews, who is a threat to get a hat trick no matter the matchup. Also, the center position is not great tonight.

TastefulTides: Auston Matthews – The league leader in goals will be facing off against the Senators, who allow the 3rd-most goals per game. The Senators also have the 5th-worst penalty kill and take the 2nd-most penalty minutes per game. Toronto has the 4th-best power play. This is an absolute smash spot for Matthews and all of the Toronto top-six players.

Joda: Auston Matthews – It is a close call between Matthews and Kucherov since both have matchups fruitful for fantasy production. Surprisingly, Matthews does not have a goal in 3 meetings against Ottawa already this season, but he is a scary fade against an Ottawa team with brutal goaltending. Matthews has 41 goals this season.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
