NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, January 27
Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
Moneyball16: Jake Guentzel – The Penguins have a huge total tonight, they are at home versus Montreal, and when they score, a big percentage of those goals go to the top line. On top of that, Guentzel’s ownership might not get too crazy because he has not popped off in a while even though there are underlying reasons for why he might tonight, like the fact he is averaging almost 5 shots a game over his last 12 games.
TastefulTides: Nikita Kucherov – I expect Kucherov to retake the overall points lead from Nathan MacKinnon after tonight’s game against the Devils. Kucherov is one of the best DFS assets in the game. His ability to shoot and his elite passing give him plenty of outs to achieve a slate-breaking score. The New Jersey Devils have the worst save percentage in the league, so this is a huge spot for the Lightning on home ice. The top line is expensive, but they have a great chance of being the top overall stack on the night.
Joda: Nikita Kucherov – The price is certainly up there, but he has been a multi-point machine. New Jersey continues to look for answers in net, and it is a tough ask on the road against a Lightning team playing much better of late. They have scored 6 goals in each of their last 2 games. Kucherov should thrive on the power play and at 5-on-5 while avoiding Hischier.
