NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, March 30

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Auston Matthews – He has somehow only looked better without Marner, with 14 points and 51 shots in a 9 games despite a low shooting%, and he has a good matchup versus a Buffalo team that is both tired from playing yesterday and lottery bound. You can also easily afford his price by playing him with cheap plays like Bertuzzi, Timmins, and/or Domi.

TastefulTides: Auston Matthews – He is easily the top overall play on the slate. Even when he was sick last game, he provided massive fantasy numbers. He averages 20 DK points on the season, and today he should be able to exceed that average. The Sabres are playing on a back-to-back, so the Leafs have the rest advantage. Even playing at home, the Sabres don’t have a shutdown line to prevent Matthews from having another big game.

Joda: Auston Matthews – Matthews was sick on Thursday, and people were scared off him. All he did was fire 10 shots on goal. Buffalo had a nice come-from-behind victory last night, but New Jersey had plenty of chances. Buffalo netminder UPL seems to be wearing down from his heavy workload this season. Matthews is the standout play this evening.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
