NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, March 9

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Tim Stutzle – He has not performed well lately, but the talent is there, the matchup is amazing against an awful team with a minor league goalie, he is way too cheap, and he correlates well with other strong plays on the Senators.

TastefulTides: Auston Matthews – He is the clear top play tonight. He has been held in check in his last few games, but he has also had some tough matchups. He doesn’t have a tough matchup tonight. Montreal is terrible at 5v5 and on the penalty kill. The Leafs should be able to dominate this game, and I would expect Matthews to hit at least one bonus.

Joda: Auston Matthews – Center is somewhat of a wasteland this evening, which makes Matthews even more of a priority. Montreal is allowing the most DK points per game to centers, and Matthews is a goal-scoring machine. Look for his usual 5+ SOG bonus and a goal.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
