NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, March 14

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

TastefulTides: Jonathan Marchessault – I think the Golden Knights will be forgotten about on this slate. Marchessault has 5 goals in his last 2 games. He has been explosive since Jack Eichel made his return after a stint on the IR. Calgary traded away some of their best players at the deadline and are also starting their 3rd-string goalie. This is a great spot for VGK1 as a full line stack, or you can play Marchessault as a one-off at what I assume will be very low ownership.

ezellmt: Jonathan Marchessault – Similar to Tides, I think the Golden Knights go overlooked tonight, which is a great opportunity to target the top line. Marchessault is white-hot, with 5 goals over his last 2 games. Tonight’s opponent is the Flames, who have struggled in a big way since they traded away the majority of their best players. Similar to the Ducks above, they’ve allowed 18 goals over their last three games. Give me a guy with multi-goal potential at low ownership every night of the week.

boggslite: Nikita Kucherov – The Rangers are a team I don’t prefer to pick on, but they have been repeatedly bailed out by their star netminder of late. They enter tonight’s game with the highest xGA/60 in the league over their last ten games. Kucherov is an elite playmaker who also skates on the league’s top power-play unit. If Shesterkin isn’t sharp tonight, it could be a long night for the Rangers in a game that shouldn’t garner heavy ownership.

What’s your hot take of the slate?
