What is your top low-owned stack?

Moneyball16: Eklund / Couture / Labanc
TastefulTides: Nylander / Tavares / Bunting
Joda: Tkachuk / Stutzle / Batherson

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) and why?

Moneyball16: Mikael Backlund – He has been good all season, but appears to have a shot at a bigger offensive role, playing with Huberdeau and getting more powerplay time than normal. Also, Oettinger is likely going to be a popular goalie tonight, so there is some added leverage if Backlund can get a few points against him tonight as well.

TastefulTides: Jason Robertson – This slate is going to have very condensed ownership on a couple of top-end stacks and skaters. While getting to the Leafs and Lightning are great plays, we should try and find some one-offs and other stacks for leverage in our GPP builds. The Stars are on their last leg of a brutal road trip, but I still think they can find a ceiling in this matchup against an under-performing Flames team. Robertson has an elite ceiling and will be a high-leverage spot.

Joda: Brady Tkachuk – With Matthews, the Lightning, and the Kings on this slate, you will not see many people spending up for Tkachuk. The Leafs started Samsonov last night, which means the very beatable Matt Murray will return to Ottawa this evening. Stacking Ottawa’s top line with AM34 as a bring-back is tantalizing for tournaments.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Nikitia Kucherov – $7500 is ridiculously cheap for Kuch at home versus one of the worst teams in the league. His linemates and powerplay linemates are strong values as well, making him a strong play in both cash and GPPs.

TastefulTides: Nikita Kucherov – His price is way too cheap on DK. He will be a very tough fade in tournaments and absolutely needs to be your first click in cash games. Montreal’s defense has been atrocious, and I don’t see this being the spot where they right the ship.

Joda: Nikita Kucherov – Certainly the chalk of the slate considering Montreal gave up 9 goals last time out with both goalies getting pulled. Simply put, Kucherov is priced too cheaply, and there’s no McDavid or MacKinnon we must spend up for. A multi-point effort seems highly likely for Nikita.

What’s your hot take of the night?

Moneyball16: Andreas Athanasiou scores!

TastefulTides: Coyotes shut out the Blackhawks.

Joda: Ottawa and Toronto combine for 10 goals.
