Slate Overview
I double-dipped today with my first appearance on the Live Show of the season. Hopefully, you enjoyed it, and I know I did. I guess with the Expert Survey, I’m triple-dipping. Luckily, I love this sport, and all of you degenerates, too.
Tonight, we have 12 games and the usual Thursday Night Ice $555 GPP with $20,000 to 1st. It’s definitely an interesting slate to break down. The two teams with the highest implied team totals are the Penguins and Wild, neither of whom fall under the umbrella of elite teams for fantasy most of the time. Minnesota has definitely been more consistent in that regard, but definitely not a lock, while Pittsburgh has struggled mightily at times. Then you have to decide if those are the a priority or someone like David Pastrnak in a good matchup or Auston Matthews in a tougher one.
The biggest news is related to the debut of the Minnesota Wild’s Matev Khusnutdinov, who I’ll cover in more detail below. Other than that, I don’t expect there to be too much news to monitor throughout the day and night.
Top Skaters
Kirill Kaprizov
DraftKings $9,000
We’re going right back to the Kaprizov well after he delivered in a big way on Tuesday night. So here’s some of what I said then, updated to include Tuesday’s results. “Kaprizov might not have the consistency of some of the game’s other elite, but the mouthwatering upside is apparent when scrolling through the game logs. In his last 12 games, he has had 4 games with 30+ DK points, including 2 with 40+, one of which was a laughably high 63-point masterpiece.”
The other night, he got to face the struggling Coyotes, but somehow the matchup is even better tonight against the Ducks. Over the last 3 games, the Ducks have allowed 19 goals, with at least 6 goals in all 3. The price tag has risen, but it’s completely warranted. He’ll be popular so I understand wanting to fade due to ownership, just know that he can easily ruin your ruin night in a hurry.
