If you read the article on Saturday, I started it with a rant about the Sharks. Here it is again, in case you missed it. “Let’s start with the Sharks. On paper, they were the worst team in the league coming into the season. Sometimes, things don’t play out in real life the way they do on paper. Unfortunately for San Jose, that’s exactly how it’s playing out on the ice. They are winless on the season and gave up TEN goals the other night, which coincidentally is the same number of goals they have scored in TEN games (yikes). People (including me and the RG community) were all over the Canucks and benefited from the onslaught. Here’s the problem: People are going to be chasing that performance against Sharks opponents, starting with the Penguins tonight. I’m hopeful the sites will price up Sharks opponents to where they’re not an auto-play every time they are on the slate.” UPDATE: They allowed another ten goals to the Penguins. When that game was in the second period, I was up $10k and won $500 when it was all said and done. Tonight, they host the Flyers, and guess what? DraftKings left their pricing completely unchanged. We’ll see how ownership shakes out for Philadelphia.
Alright, let’s move on to the rest of the slate. DK has matched their biggest contest of the year (I think) with a $100k to first $444 entry contest. I was fortunate to snag a few tickets through qualifiers, so I’ll have more than my usual single-entry rolling tonight. In looking at the games, there are essentially two huge favorites, the aforementioned Flyers (-200) and the Hurricanes at home against the Sabres (-225). There are no crazy over/unders with all the games checking in at either 6.0 or 6.5. I don’t think ownership will be too concentrated, and that includes the Flyers. As a team, the Flyers will be heavily owned, but I think it’ll be spread out across their Top 3 lines. Let’s break it all down and try to win someone that $100k!
