NHL Slate Summary: Saturday, January 4th

Each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, a daily fantasy hockey analyst will overview the upcoming daily fantasy hockey slate, picking out the most favorable spots to attack. NOTE: This article will primarily focus on FanDuel and DraftKings NHL DFS contests.

Saturday, January 4th

We have a ton of action on the ice today, but this article will focus on the seven game evening slate.

General Observations

B2B Situations: We have a crazy busy night on the ice tonight, yet not a single team playing today was in action last night.

The hottest team in the NHL entering tonight’s action? The Vancouver Canucks who have rattled off six straight victories. Their recent hot-streak has propelled them all the way into third place in the Pacific Division and they now find themselves just four points behind the first place Vegas Golden Knights (with three games in hand). The rebuild in Vancouver appears to have happened quickly and their young offensive weapons have helped them average 4.67 goals per game during their winning streak. They’ll play host to a New York Rangers team that has coincedently surrendered an NHL worst 3.39 xGA/60 and 13.38 HDCA/60 this season.
